This privacy notice sets out how Sefton Council Fostering Service uses and protects any information that you give Sefton Council Fostering Service when you use this website.

Sefton Council Fostering Service is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy notice.

We will not disclose your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Why Do You Need My Information?

 To process your enquiry and application to initially assess whether or not you are suitable to become a foster carer. We are collecting and processing your information under the legal basis of public task. This allows us to use your information to make initial decisions about whether you could be suitable to become a foster carer for a child.

 

Do I Have To Provide This Information?

 If you are interested in becoming a foster carer and wish to apply we need to collect this information to begin the application process.

 

How Long Will You Keep This Data For?

 We will retain the information you provide during the enquiry and application stage in accordance with the Fostering Service Regulations 2011 Part 5 Regulation 32. The regulation states that data collected as part of a foster carer enquiry and/or application should be held for a minimum of 3 years. This is the maximum period that we will retain the information for and applies to applications which are refused or withdrawn at the enquiry and application stage.

 

How Will My Information Be Stored?

 The enquiry and application data will be held securely on an electronic system in accordance with the legislative timescales mentioned above.

 

Changes to our Privacy Notice

 We regularly review our privacy notice and encourage you to check it from time to time. This notice was last updated in May 2018.
