Kim Golding designed the group work specifically for those caring for children whose capacity to emotionally connect has been compromised due to attachment problems\, trauma\, and loss or separation. Informed by attachment theory and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP)\, it consists of three modules: \n1 Understanding the challenges of parenting a child impacted by trauma \n\nWhat blocks trust and openness to shared experiences in relationships\nWhy do children impacted by trauma\, miscue\, sending off confusing signals?\nThe challenges of parenting children living in shame\n\n2 Therapeutic Parenting\nBuilding connections \n\nNoticing – are our children and are we open and engaged?\nHow we can maintain an attitude of Playfulness\, Acceptance\, Curiosity & Empathy (PACE)\n\nSupporting behaviour \n\nWhy traditional behaviour management methods need adapting for children impacted by trauma\nWhat is ‘Connection with correction’?\nHow can emotional regulation using PACE and Mind minded parenting be combined to promote positive behaviour?\n\n3 Looking after self \nUnderstanding attachment  history \n\nReflecting on the importance and relevance of early relationship experience when parenting children\nExploring the importance of maintaining resilience as a parent\nReflect on blocked care and the possible impact for you.\n\nBook your place
