Research has found that instances of online sexism and misogynistic ideology is increasing, with a language and cult following all of its own. This workshop explores how and why boys and young men can be drawn in by charismatic online influencers that with just a few clicks and ‘likes’, lead to darker corners of the internet and misogynistic extremism.

• The role of online influencers (e.g. Andrew Tate) and why misogynistic philosophy appeals to so many young men and boys, and how it can shape and influence them.
• Potential indicators and risks of harm from misogynistic ideology, and safeguarding responsibilities in relation to grooming for misogynistic extremism (Prevent duty)
• Tips for positive conversations and ways to challenge at home.
