Supporting Young People to Understand the Impact of Social Media and the Internet 6th March 2026

This introductory workshop explores online culture and the use of social media by young people to better understand the role it has for them in friendships, learning and personal development, along with the potential risks. The course covers:
- How and why young people choose the platforms they use on social media.
- Potential risks from harmful content, including online pornography and influencers promoting misogyny and other forms of extremism.
- Tips for having positive conversations about managing social media use, staying safe online and the Online Safety Act.
